About Us

At Good News Church of Eagan, we believe that Jesus Christ is the true source of life, hope, and joy. Every good thing our hearts are searching for is found in Jesus, and He is the answer to life’s biggest questions.

Jesus is able to transform every part of our lives as He renews and restores us. He changes us to love others sacrificially and sends us on His mission to bring His grace and truth to the world.

It’s our joy at Good News Church to share the hope of Jesus Christ with people in the city of Eagan and beyond. We invite you to gather with us and come as you are, whether you’re beginning to explore Christianity or a committed follower of Jesus.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus by engaging and evangelizing the world and by establishing and equipping believers.

Engage

We seek to engage the world around us as ambassadors for Christ, sharing His love in all our relationships.

Establish

We seek to establish believers by teaching them God’s Word and helping them follow Jesus in their everyday lives.

Evangelize

We aim to evangelize by sharing the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection and inviting others to become followers of Jesus.

Equip

We desire to equip believers to make disciples of Jesus and to use their gifts to serve the church family.

Our Vision

Christ’s redeemed people

This is our identity as people who believe the truth of the gospel. Christ has redeemed us by His grace, and we love to worship our gracious Savior and share the good news of His grace.

Loving one another as blood-bought family

When Jesus saves us from sin, He brings us together into a covenant family, the church. As God’s children and brothers and sisters in Christ, we seek to love one another as Christ has loved us.

Making disciples of Jesus together

The Great Commission calls us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that Jesus has commanded us. We seek to carry out that mission by engaging and evangelizing the world and by establishing and equipping believers.

Our Leadership

Haddon Anderson Lead Pastor/Elder

Haddon grew up in Watertown, MN and came to faith in Christ at a young age. After attending Bethel University, Bethlehem Seminary, and Southern Seminary, he returned home to Watertown Evangelical Free Church, where he served as Pastor of Worship Ministries for three years. He then served as Senior Pastor of Garner (Iowa) Evangelical Free Church for eleven years, and in 2022 he had the joy of being the lead planter of Good News Church of Eagan. Haddon and his beloved wife Karlyn have been married since 2007, and they have four delightful children. He loves talking about Jesus and the Bible (and would love to chat with you!), spending time with his family, baseball, reading, biking, snowshoeing, playing the saxophone, and visiting the north shore of Lake Superior.

Paul Hussey Lay Pastor/Elder

Caleb Figgers Lay Pastor/Elder

Caleb was raised in a large, Christian, homeschooling, military family along with eight younger siblings. Pursuing a sense of call to full-time pastoral ministry that began in his mid-teens, Caleb received a Bachelor’s degree in English from Liberty University in 2015 and an M.Div. from Bethlehem College and Seminary in 2022. Caleb also serves with Training Leaders International, a Minneapolis-based non-profit ministry that seeks to strengthen local churches by offering theological education to Christian pastors and church leaders within the US and overseas. Caleb enjoys programming languages, philosophy and theology, and needlessly complicated methods of brewing coffee. His wife Jenna is a graphic designer and full-time mom to their little girl, Tabitha.

Our History

Good News Church of Eagan was planted out of Bethlehem Baptist Church in October of 2022. Our burden is to obey the Great Commission by fostering a healthy Christian community of believers while reaching the neighborhoods in the city of Eagan, MN with the good news of Jesus Christ.

We affirm the historic creeds and confessions of the Christian church, we celebrate and affirm the Big God Theology and pursuit of joy in God that we learned at BBC, and we believe wholeheartedly that the gospel of Jesus Christ touches and transforms every part of life, not just the two hours we spend together every Sunday morning.
